Course Details
The course reviews key mediation values and principles and relevant professional codes of conduct. It explores the range of ethical dilemmas that mediators experience in practice such as decisions about ending mediation, challenges to impartiality and self-determination, conflicts of interest, and tensions between personal, professional, and workplace values. The student will learn new skills for ethical reasoning and applying ethical thinking to practice. The course draws upon mediation theory and research, applied ethics, and the practice wisdom of experienced family mediators.
